About This Course

The IGCSE Edexcel Islamiyat course provides students with a structured and in-depth study of Islam as a faith, a way of life, and a historical tradition. The course is designed to develop a clear understanding of core Islamic beliefs and practices while encouraging thoughtful reflection, analysis, and informed discussion. It supports students in gaining both religious knowledge and strong academic skills within a disciplined and respectful framework.

Students study the central teachings of Islam, including the Qur’an and Hadith, with close attention to their meaning, themes, and application. The life and mission of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) form a key part of the syllabus, helping students understand the historical context of Islam and the development of the Muslim community. Learners also explore the principles of Islamic law, worship, and morality, examining how beliefs guide personal conduct and social responsibility.

Throughout the course, students are encouraged to develop critical thinking, structured writing, and the ability to support answers with clear evidence and explanation. Emphasis is placed on understanding different perspectives within Islam and applying religious teachings to modern issues. By the end of the programme, learners are well prepared for IGCSE examinations and further study in religious studies, humanities, and social sciences, while gaining a deeper and more informed understanding of Islam and its values.
